The competition will include special events based on the 21st International Harp Competition that took place in March this year. These will include performances with various harp instruments, concerts in different styles every evening and afternoon, and several workshops, lectures, and master classes.

Mélanie Laurent, France, the winner of the 11th international competition in the USA, will especially come to Israel for the opening concert that will take place on December 19th, 2022, and will collaborate with the Latin American Folklore Ensemble. Mélanie is coming to us as part of an exchange prize between the international, Israeli and American harp competitions. She will lead master classes and serve on the jury of the competition.

On the second evening, there will be a special concert with the participation of the best Israeli harpists, and in the final concert, harpist Marina Fradin will play a varied repertoire of world music pieces with the ethnic ensemble led by Yinon Muallem.

Above all, the competition is designed to promote Israeli harp players by having them participate in the "Fourth Israeli Harp Competition", which will be at the center of the events. The competition is intended exclusively for Israeli harpists and aims to promote and enrich young Israeli harp musicians.

The Israeli harp competition is considered the "little sister" of the international competition and has been growing since its inception in 2011. This year, we are proud and excited to present 38 young Israeli competitors, in five categories, aged 10-25 years.

The jury will be headed by the renowned pianist, Prof. Jonathan Zak, and the jury will include the international harpist Mélanie Laurent from France, Dr. Ilana Lev-Cohen, and the harpists Sunita Staneslow and Ada Ragimov.
