Hi there,
Next time you plan on swimming at the Sea of Galilee, you may want to add an additional activity. The Yigal Allon Center at Kibbutz Ginosar on the shores of the Sea of Galilee invites you to a special summer activity for the whole family! Come on an air-conditioned journey in time in the impressive and inviting structure. The tour guides will take you through exhibits from the Second Temple, Mishnah, and Talmud to the days just before the establishment of the State of Israel introducing the inspiring figure of Yigal Allon and his extensive heritage. Values such as protection and settlement, attitude to man and environment, and connection to tradition and culture, all come together accompanied by fascinating stories.
Among the various exhibits throughout the museum is the oldest boat in the world (two thousand years old!) Found in the Sea of Galilee; A new exhibition on Yigal Alon's leadership with additional displays on stations in his life; An exhibition of the Sanhedrin Trail - over 150 special items found in archeological excavations throughout the Galilee; The Kinneret Exhibition - the story of the Sea of Galilee from different points of view throughout history; Samson Mosaic - the only original mosaic from the ancient synagogue in Hukok that is displayed to the general public; A reading corner for children with plenty of Yiftach Allon's (Yigal Allon's son) nostalgic books and many more surprises.
Those interested in enriching the experience can, for an additional fee and by prior arrangement, participate in a special escape room: "Escape to the Galilee" where participants (over age 7) will go through various challenging stations following the true story of the young Palmach fighters in the battle for the conquest of Tiberias.
