Sukkot in Katzrin: The 7th "Basalt Sounds" Festival

Hi there,

The Katzrin Local Council is inviting the public for the seventh time to an expanded and varied edition of the "Basalt Sounds" festival that will be held during Sukkot in Katzrin Park. Performances by Israel's favorite artists: Idan Raichel, Ravid Plotnik, Noga Erez, David Broza, and the Revivo project will occur on one stage every evening. As part of the festival, the entire north will join the celebration with numerous events. During the five days of the festival, a huge march in the JNF forest will take place as well as a beer celebration, tours, and activities for the whole family and more. It is an opportunity to enjoy a festival rich in content, of high quality, and with pleasantly surprising ticket prices.

WHEN: Sukkot, 1-5 Oct 2023

The daytime activities will take place in Katzrin Park, an ancient village 1,600 years old, built of basalt houses on the border of the JNF forest in Katzrin surrounded by olive and pomegranate orchards. In the central location where the festival will take place, a 500-year-old oak tree stands across the gate of the ancient synagogue. During the festival, there will be activities related to the olive harvest season, which will take place in the ancient village where dozens of olive trees are scattered. There will be tours and family activities for the general public among the olive trees, the ancient olive press, and the ancient agriculture complex.

"This year's Sukkot holiday in Katzrin will be an ongoing celebration. Katzrin, the capital of the Golan Heights, continues to lead with quality culture at our most special site. Ancient Katzrin is undergoing a significant facelift and will soon be beyond an archaeological site, a leading tourist site, a recreation center, education, experience, history, and heritage alongside culture, music, and a variety of activities for the whole family. 'The Basalt Sounds Festival' will host Israel's favorite artists. Don't wait for the holidays because tickets are sold out," said Avinoam Breuer, director of Katzrin Park.
