Talma Gotteiner

Hi there,

I'm happy to share with you a Tu B'Shvat workshop for children and the whole family that will take place at The Nahum Gutman Museum of Art in Tel Aviv. The activity will open with a short tour of the new solo exhibition by the artist Meital Katz-Minerbo, 'The Garden of Things'. Inspired by the exhibition and by the holiday, the participants will create a collage of leaves in a variety of different techniques. The activity is suitable for ages 6-10 and will take place in Hebrew.

In addition, the museum store will unveil, on the occasion of the Tu B'Shvat, illustrations and art products that present nature, at special prices. Among the products offered in the store:

Nahum Gutman's book 'The Orange Peel Trail' - Adventures from the Early Days of Tel Aviv, written and illustrated by Nahum Gutman, in a special edition published by the museum in 2018. At the end of the book, a text is added in Gutman's handwriting, trying to explain why and what the book was written about; "It is known that it is not the factual truth that is important in writing a story. The story has its influences, such as the writer's worldview, influences of other people, and pattern of thoughts and not just the telling of a story or certain period alone. In this book, the factuality as a whole is correct and realistic for the period. You can see the characteristics of the people and the landscape and take in the joy of life in the course of destiny and its upheavals. These are the things that I describe and tell in this story. " The price of the book is normally 56 NIS. The price after the discount is 48 NIS.

A quality poster 'A holiday in the orchards of Jaffa' - many of Nahum Gutman's paintings fall between documentation and memory and fantasy and imagination. Nahum Gutman the boy lived in Neve Tzedek, which was the first Jewish neighborhood outside the walls of Jaffa, and he grew up alongside the development of "Ahuzat Beit", which is today Tel Aviv-Yafo. Jaffa at this time was surrounded by acres of orchards and Guttman did much to document them in his works. In this painting, Guttman describes 'A Holiday in the Orchards of Jaffa' which was painted in the 1960s, long after the orchards were gone. The price of the poster is normally 119 NIS. The price after the discount is 101 NIS.
